Desert sessions - I Wanna Make It Wit Chu

I've got a musical regret : Why i didn't buy the LP Desert Sessions vol 9/10 when its comes out ????? Arhhhh its cost 140 $ today.
This is the best version of the tune " Wanna make it wit chu"  by Queens of the Stone Age. In the Desert Sessions version, Josh Homme sing with PJ Harvey, and they make a real masterpiece. I probably heard this version more than 1500 times. I love love love love this song.

Thursday night, after a set of 4 hours of 50's and a lil incursion in early 60's music, i've put 2 modern songs to achieve the DJ set : "The lost art of keeping a secret" and "Autopilot" of Queen of the Stone age. Things impossible if i've done the set for a rockabilly event, but these 2 quiet songs were perfect to close the pub. i follow what do Josh Homme since almost 15 years with Kyuss, Desert Sessions and QOTSA. He is a such great artist even if he is famous now. I love almost all what he creates in music.

The blast

Yesterday party was THE blast. It was war in my head and i made a DJ set of 4 hours :) my turntables were in fire. I almost truly burn the amplify system of the pub !!!! Ah ah ah William, the owner of the pub, was so stressed ha ha ha ;) I'm a warrior ha ha ha. My friends and i, have so much fun. People really enjoy 50's and early 60's music even if they never really heard about it. It was so great. I'm so happy and i thought it was great to do it for a non-rockabilly audience. My friend Charlotte from Glitter Paradise (the funky jewels designer) will came to the party tonight. I've prepare her, a lil surprise : Some stickers to put on my turntables and bathroom's pub walls.
Hope everybody will have the same sens of derision and humor. At least, if i meet "tought guys" i could said "Oups i didn't know, i only took the same graphism on french cigarettes pack"

Yesterday evening, i was invited for the dinner at Nikki and Fred's home. Nikki just come back from China. She's waiting me with tons of presents.
One of them, was a new "Olivia comics" found in Italia. She has offered me one of them in 2002. Again, in the new book, there is tons of funny concordances with my life. I'm sure that the author, Ian Falconer, has a little girl, who 's named Olivia. Because i was excatly the same when i was 8 years old, "always go ahead mind"

Ok guys you will probably don't care but....

.... Since 2 months and my first meeting with my boss, about a work mutation in Bayonne, my perception of things has changed.

(Sorry for my bad english, i will do my best but it's not easy to describe feelings)

First, i was really upset when i heard that i will have a response in august 2011 !!!! I'm really feel like a "Montpellier prisonner".

I was sad and angry the first days, and miracle, my perception has changed. I start to think that these 10 months will be a good opportunity to do great things here in Montpellier and have time for reflexion about the work mutation and quite my old father's area.

Last week, the "lil lover" that i've met in december, has stop the start of a second  "lil' relationship" with me, because i'm not the kind of women wich he could invest a life.

What did he expect from a Big Mama ????!!! Surely not waiting alone while he's out with bros on motorcycles ha ha ha. No way !!! ; )

This "Bourricot" lover treated me like if i was a millstone aroud his neck. I was sad because i'm not and i'm not acting like that, always leave him free to see me or not. I'm really feel humiliated.

I was worried by what he could think about me after this relation. Feel rejected and not respected.

This week, i realized that the "failure of this second chance" really affected me and my happyness. 

I was worried by the fact that i've lost my new energy and happiness found since few. I was so so so so worried by this loss.  

But times always do great things. Again, my happiness was back only few days after this affair. And i'm feel like a "Fuckin' Powerfull Sista". Again, i feel strong. I completely don't care about what he could think about me, i've a deep confidence in myself and my strong personnality. I completely don't care if he's go back with his ex or anybody else. I just keep him in my prayers because i have the feeling that he's not happy in his life but that's all.

By the way, it was to explain the context, past is past : My search for happyness was long,  i'm 34 years old now.  May be it could me more quick (or not) with psychologists ???? I don't know, but i hate academics things, so i do it almost by myself. Again without "Agapè - Friendship", it would be more long for sure.

Be liberated by an awfull past and childhood, walk alone with confidence, have joice every morning, WOW it 's so wonderfull that i could not to tell it on my lil blog.

I'm so happy that i need to tell it to all the world ha ha ha ha !!!!

Since my perception has changed, i'm so enthusiast about everything : I was famous to be a smily woman but now i'm sure to smile even when i'm sleeping :

- I have time for my friends since i've this new energy, i stop to fall assleep each night at 9 o'clock.

- My DJ activities start slowly but surely. People seems to be curious about 50's music !!! Alleluyah !!!

- I learn Tango (not easy but on the good way)

- Soon, some wonderfull Country, R'n R, Noïse, HxC, Stoner bands will play in Montpellier. Amazing gigs in perspective !! I can't believe my eyes when i saw that Scott Kelly from Neurosis, will play here in Montpellier, but it's only one gig in middle of tons of wonderfull bands. I love noïse and stoner musics :)  I'm so impatient.

- I'm happy of what i got, very few but it's enought.

- I wait the end of the cold and i will start motorcycle lessons soon. I didn't do it  last year because i've eradicated the idea when our friend die in a motorcycle accident. But, i wan't to pass a new step after skateboarding, this is the evolution for the "old & lazy broken knees lady" am i :) / but i'm still worried by death injuries on motorcycle and i still don't know how to manage this fear. Europe roads are real serial killers.

Another musical confessions :)

First, when i've got insomnia, i spend my time on You Tube watching Cajun and Zydeco musics.
Two, definitively not !!! My dream is not to go to Viva Las Vegas. My dream is to visit California and finish by a trip in Louisiana and see locals gigs (and of course taste all Cajun recipes with tons of red hot chili sauce by the same way :)

Today, my friend Patrice sends to me some old pics. These one are from my birthday in july 2005. I've improvised a "last minute party" with closer friends.

I lived in a small place, a total mess ha ha ha but i was happy. I used to living like a tramp, work night and day in awfull temporary works, lived with few money, spend my time at the beach, skatepark or gigs everywhere, but i was really happy, i was free and it was fuckin good.

Summer 2005 was my best summer ever, so positive and friendly.

Yesterday, i fall on a pic of Jodie Foster skateboarding in 1977. She was so cute, make me think why the band JFA has choosen the name of "Jodie Foster Army" .

I've bought these 2 records in 1998, and here in Europe they are absolutely unknowed. I only know one personn who know about them : My friend from Germany,  Robin.

Even, if i didn't listen to these records since pfffff..... long long long long time and my bad habits to give everything when i don't use something. I can't sell its either, particulary "Blatant localism" my favorite. It's too much historic in the hardcore and skate scene.

Even if guys sell "Blatant localism" and "Mad Garden" on ebay at 70$.

By the way, i fall on the split "Make Up / Long Leg" next my JFA records this morning. I really thought that i've lost this one. I was happy because i've the song "Pow to the people" in the head all the month and was sad to can't put the hand on it. "Pow to the people" of Make Up was produced by Guy Picciotto from Fugazi ( a very good reference according to Big Mama :)

It was the nice thing  that everybody doesn't care but that makes my day ha ha ha !!!! : )

Truffle !!! Again

Ok, may be it's time to find a  "TA" meeting (Truffleholics Anonymous) because i'm completely addict.

But today, i've got a very good surprise : the price fall to 890 € by kilo instead 1380€ before Christmas :)
So i've buy 2 lil truffles  instead only one, one for the dinner and the other to share with my Girlz this week-end.

Yummy.... the smell is a delight !!! January is may be the best moment to eat black truffle. I've found top top top quality, again in the "Epicerie Pinto- Montpellier".

Again, i will prepare it the most simple as it could be to do. With boiled eggs + on top with gniocchi.

Time to open a good bottle of red wine to go with it ?!?

Last purchase : ugly but necessary

Hello guys,

Yesterday, i've buy a second turntable and a little mix table. Next month, i think to invest in a new ampli and speakers. So, i will be ready for summer pool parties and BBQ :)

I hesitate a lot to buy cheap material on internet, but i prefer buy again a first price turntable by "Gemini" in a professional sound system shop, here in Montpellier. I've got my first "Gemini" turntable in 2001 and i've no problem since then.

Now i need to found a solution to hide this awfull modern technology. It's so ugly in the tiki room : (

By the way, Olivia Banana will goes out with its bananas and records soon !!!! I will do 2 DJ sets soon.

The first will take place at the pub "La Distillerie" : The owner of the pub wants to mix music style : A metal band will play in acoustic and i will pass 50's music. Great  :) May be it will be the occasion for me to pass some stoner music too ? (I love stoner too :)

And the second event is the gig of Bloodshot Bill at the "Secret Place".

I love when it's closer

Christmas present from my friend Fred

Yesterday evening at the "King Salami & the cumberland 3" gig, i' ve rendez-vous with my friend Fred. Funny, because we have take out in same time, from our pockets our Christmas presents :) Mine was the cd of "Gadjo Zaz Trio" ( band of Mr. French Cancan), and the present of Fred was this  cigarette holder in ivory and bakelite. Great, i' ve a bakelite bangle in the same color. I will be so chic to smoke my cigarillos (awfull habits i know, but a little one, sometimes after a good dinner is always welcome :)

Un tango para Gran Madre

I am so enthusiastic, I began lessons of tango recently. I'm so happy, i've found lessons at 500 yards from my home.

I  love so much this dance but that's change a lot from jive !!!

The only problem is the lack of men during the lessons. More women than men.

But found a tango partner here, is more difficult than try to found a boyfriend  ha ha ha ha !!!

During the 2 hours of the lesson, you couldn't dance all the time cause the lack of men. But the teacher is such a great dancer. Dancing with the teacher only 5 minutes and you learn a lot.

I wait the next lessons with so much impatience !!! Clap clap clap clap !!! But i'm more impatient to finish the lessons season to be able to dance in ballroom + I love dance tango very closer, when i said closer i mean very very closer : ) !!! And it's not possible during lesson, it's too much academic :(

Holidays

Hi !

Holidays are always too short when you have fun. I spend great times with my friends and i come back to work more tired than before the holidays :)

Between Christmas and the NYE, i 've got wonderfull time for me, for reflexion about my life and my goals.  It was really positive. ( You know that i'm waiting for a response about a new work for Bayonne on the French Atlantic Coast, because i would like to quite Montpellier, but things seem to change a lot here.
i still don't know where is my place and again i will be very heavy with God ha ha ha ha but i have the feeling that everything is in His hands so i let do it : ) no more stress for me and i really think i will move to the Rockabilly Rave in june.

I received the phone call of my friend Serge from Paris, who determinate me, to go to the Rockabilly Rave with him and Ludovic. They are so cool, have no style, they are awfull and sarcastic with everybody, wear the most ugly underwear possible to wear and bathing suits ha ha ha ha , but i 've so much fun with them. We love dance as Teddy Boys on the dance floor ha ha ha ha !!! Ok it's not intelligent but we have fun. Now i've 6 months to save money for the Rave.
